Brick Kiln of the Great Wall

Time flies like an arrow, and the past is but fleeting memories. As we stood here, we could not have imagined that the vast yellow earth beneath us was once the location of the brick kiln for providing bricks to the construction of the Badaling section of the Great Wall. Just imagine, how big this kiln would have to be, and how painstakingly the laborers busied themselves with the construction process day and night. As we reminisce about the past, it is almost as if we could see the darkly tanned faces of the laborers, the burning sweat flowing down their backs, and the scorching flames inside the kiln.  All of these combine to portray an eternal picture, reminding us of how the Chinese Nation unyieldingly created a historical civilization that all mankind takes pride in.

The blackened marks created by smoke found on the nearby cliffs are the last remaining footprints of history.

The rugged bricks found in fault lines in the yellow earth are silently recounting history.
