Feng Xian Dian(Hall for Worshipping Ancestors)

This hall was built in 1656, rebuilt in 1679 and repaired in 1737.

During the Qing Dynasty, it was the place to worship the spirit-tablets of the imperial ancestors. On the three festivals--Spring Festival, the Winter Solstice and the emperor’s birthday, and other grand ceremonies, the regular memorial rites would be held in its front hall. On the birthday and death anniversary of imperial ancestors as well as the important festivals, a salute would be given in its back hall. After hunting the emperor would sacrifice his prey here before his ancestors.
