Constructed in 1420 during the Ming Emperor Yongle's reign it was originally named of Temple of Divine Music under the Ministry of Rites, the administrative institution in charge of the teaching and training in ceremonial music: "Zhonghe Zhaoyue". Inside it there are such buildings as the Nixi Hall, Xianyou Hall, Zhaoxiu Hall, Muxiu Hall, Linren Hall and the Garment Warehouse.
