Silk case is a container for silk. In the Ming Dynasty, there were totally five kinds of silks, namely, Jiaosi Silk, Fengxian Silk, Zhanqin Silk, Lishen Silk and Baogong Silk, each for different use; for example, Fengxian Silk was required in the sacrificial ceremony of mausoleum and Imperial Ancestral Temple.
